About Us The Dorset Huntington's Disease clinical network serves patients and families symptomatic, or at risk of HD. It consists of:
A community service provided principally by the community rehabilitation team; Disability Action, and the Dorset and Wiltshire HDA specialist nurse. A clinic service at Poole and Dorchester hospitals, with a specialist clinic for more complex HD patients held quarterly at Poole Community Health Clinic. This clinic will be held more frequently as the register becomes established. A nursing home service provided by Dr Stephen Simpson, consultant psychiatrist.
The ENROLL-HD research clinics run alongside these services and are held at least monthly, in the Neurology Research Suite in the Eddie Hawker wing, Poole General Hospital. Services provided

- Genetic advice
- Specialist dental and dietetic assessment and advice
- Psychological assessment and management
- Neropalliative care
- Entry and monitoring byt the Euro-HD registry
Our Aim To provide on-going specialist care of HD patients and their families. We do not discharge from continiued follow-up.

ParkingThere is a multi-storey car park at the hospital site. There are also a limited number of disabled spaces directly outside Eddie Hawker wing. Other options for parking are on Bird’s Hill Road (free for 2 hours) or Bournemouth Road (parking meter) both of which are a 5-10 minute walk from the Eddie Hawker wing. |
