OsloUniversityHospital is a highly specialized hospital in charge of extensive regional and local hospital assignments and the provision of high quality services for the citizens of Oslo. The hospital also has a nationwide responsibility for a number of national and multi-regional assignments and has several national centres of competence. OsloUniversityHospital consists of eight medical divisions in addition to the central unit Oslo Hospital Services, which provides non-medical services to the rest of the hospital. More than 20,000 employees are engaged with activities at more than 40 different locations.
Oslo University Hospital (OUH) is one of three
Norwegian study sites that participate in EHDN's international observational
study REGISTRY. Responsible departments are the department of Medical
Genetics, Department of Neurology and the Department of Neurohabilitation. Here
patients and families with Huntington's Disease (HD) are seen for genetic
counseling, testing and treatment. Neurologists, geneticists, psychologists,
nurses and secretaries are all familiar with HD.

At the Department patients and their
families can receive genetic counseling and carry out a genetic test. The
patient group consists mainly of patients in their early stages with HD related
problems. There is a close collaboration between the department and the
National Centre for Rare Disorders when it comes to the care of HD patients and
their families.
